Founded in 1983 by Fr. Bill (Bix) Bichsel, sj to address the unmet healthcare needs of the local neighborhood, the Neighborhood Clinic has grown and become a safety network that provides free urgent medical care for those unable to access or afford medical care in Pierce County.
In 2015, they partnered with Medical Teams International to host a monthly dental van to provide free dental care for adults without dental insurance. In addition to addressing the basic healthcare needs of the most vulnerable in our community, it is also a referral service which connects related available services with patient’s other unmet needs.
Neighborhood Clinic is open every Monday and Thursday evenings (with the exception of holidays) from 5pm – 8pm and is staffed primarily by generous volunteers including primary care providers, ARNPs, PAs, nurses, dental hygienists, psychologists, social workers, lab technicians and interpreters.
