At Catherine Place we welcome all women. To go further, we are committed to addressing the needs of women challenged by poverty, loss, violence, immigration, or illness. Unfortunately, in our lives we all face at least one of these challenges. For many of us it is our challenges that pull us toward Catherine Place, as a way to find support and support of other women.
Recently we asked for your support; surveying partners, program participants, and volunteers to see who you think we could serve better. Thank you for taking the time to share with us. I assure you that we deeply appreciate your feedback and take it very seriously.
Groups that you suggested we might increase our outreach to were women of color, immigrants, non-English speakers, young mothers, and the LGBTQ community. We are working on our programs for 2018 with your suggestions in mind. We are developing partnerships with leaders in communities of color, hiring a new Spanish speaking Crime Victim Advocate, training staff in the ‘Triple P’ parenting curriculum, and expanding our group offerings through partnerships with other local service providers.
Please let us know what you think of these new services as you experience them. If you have feedback to give, don’t wait for a survey. We are here for all women and we want to be here for you. If you have a great idea about how to serve the women of our community, give us a call or stop by for a cup of tea. You are an important part of Catherine Place and we treasure your participation.
In Gratitude,
Traci Kelly
