Dear Catherine Place Community,
We are navigating a significant transition. The Board has spent considerable time reflecting on the future of our organization, especially the challenges we have faced sustaining our mission post-pandemic. After thorough deliberation and with a deep sense of responsibility towards the communities we serve, we decided that Catherine Place will be entering a period of ‘hospice’ through the end of our fiscal year (June 2024), with the intention of closing our doors permanently at that time.
Unfortunately, our current service model is not sustainable without significant additional funding. During this period, our focus will be honoring the legacy and spirit of Catherine Place by ensuring a smooth, thoughtful transition for our programs and services.
The Board is fully committed to finding a new home for our signature programs and ensuring clients have access to the services they depend on. We view this as a critical part of our responsibility to you, our dedicated community, and to the broader mission that Catherine Place has embodied over the years.
We understand that this news may generate many emotions and questions, especially for our donors and supporters who have generously contributed to Catherine Place. In recognition of the changing circumstances and out of respect for your ongoing support, we want to address the matter of recurring donations. Catherine Place will continue to be open through the end of the fiscal year, offering services such as support groups and compassionate listening space (through June 30, 2024) and would be honored to accept your donation through that time. For those who wish to discusstheir donations or have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to board@catherineplace.org. We are committed to transparency and support throughout this transition. If you wish to cancel your recurring donations at any time, we completely understand and honor that decision.
Volunteers are currently available to welcome the community at Catherine Place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm. We are committed to transparency and open communication as we work through these changes together.
Thank you to all the women who joined us on Sunday, February 18, gathering, sharing thoughts & stories, and honoring the legacy of Catherine Place. We embark on this journey with a profound respect for the impact Catherine Place has had on so many lives. It is our hope that through careful planning and collaboration, we can ensure that the essence and mission of Catherine Place continue to thrive in new forms and partnerships.
Thank you for your understanding, your support, and your commitment to the spirit and community of Catherine Place. Together, we will work to honor our past and embrace the future with open hearts and minds.
In Hope, Healing, and Connection,
The Catherine Place Board
